Description

{1} Archaeological recording was undertaken in advance of construction of a sunken loading ramp associated with a proposed food store. The robbed out remains of at least two phases of stone buildings, including a vaulted stone drain, were uncovered. Finds from the demolition layers above the buildings , including a 'sauce' bottle, a fragment of aquamanile and a carved bone knife are consistent with the sites monastic status.
