Description

{1} To the west of the A605, along the line of the 'old' Oundle Road, considerable disturbance had taken place and the ground level had been raised by at least 1.5m. No archaeological features were found in this area, although residual Roman pottery was found in the make-up layers. To the east of the A605, three sustantial Roman ditches were found, probably dating to the late 1st to 2nd centuries AD. Four other undated features, including a possible pit, a gully and a ditch, were also recorded in this area.
