Description

{1} An archaeological watching brief was maintained during the groundwork process of development for an office block on land at 15 St Giles Street, Northampton. Although two earlier walls were revealed these appeared to be walls of a cellar, back-filled with material containing pottery dating to the late 17th- early 18th century. The level of medieval activity therefore was either not reached by the groundworks for the new building or had been already destroyed by earlier cellar construction. Site code: SGS02
