Description

In the summer of 1970 part of a large enclosure was identified in aerial photographs. Within a months of the identification, part of the enclosure had been destroyed by gravel extraction. Earth-moving was temporarily suspended and a rescue excavation was arranged by the Rugby Archaeological Society and the Department of the Environment.
