Description

{1} An archaeological excavation and subsequent watching brief was undertaken on c. 0.8 ha of land to the rear of the George Inn, Glapthorn Road, Oundle. Sparse activity dating from the late Bronze Age to the late Iron Age. Origin of settlement in the late iron Age, although the main period of activity dates to the 2nd-4th centuries AD. A small Anglo-Saxon cemetery was also excavated.
