Description

{1} Observation of a soil test pit close to Woolmonger Street. Natural ironstone lay at a depth of 1.7m below present ground level and was sealed by a thick homogeneous layer of grey-brown clayey loam, with recent building remains above this. No other archaeological deposits or finds were present.
