Description
{1} An archaeologcial watching brief was undertaken during groundworks connected with the installation of two new security bollards on land at Canons Ashby House. An examination revealed a natural substratum comprising red/ brown fragments of ironstone sealed by grey/ brown silt loam, containing numerous fragments of pale grey/ brown mortar which may be connected with the former main access driveway to the house. No archaeological features or finds were recovered.
