{1} Eighty trial trenches were excavated. An Iron Age settlement was present in Field 3 and comprised a series of roughly circular or pennanular enclosures as suggested by the geophysics. The evaluation confirmed the results of the preceding geophysical survey with only a single possible early prehistoric pit being identified beyond the limits of the settlement.
