Description
University of Leicester Archaeological Services was commissioned by Northamptonshire Acre to undertake an archaeological evaluation of the Hunsbury Hill Centre, Harksome Hill, Northampton in advance of the construction of a new building and the re-modelling of the car park. The proposed development area had been identified as being an area of archaeological potential. Three evaluation trenches were excavated within the proposed development area, two within the car park and a third within the footprint of the new building to ascertain the likely extent of any potential archaeological remains. Nothing of archaeological significance was recorded during the course of this evaluation. Significant changes in ground level suggest extensive quarrying has taken place within the proposed development area. The archive for the archaeological work will be held by University of Leicester Archaeological Services under the temporary site code HHC.2010. Information from OASIS Online Form
