Abstract/Summary

An archaeological evaluation was undertaken at Hunsbury Hill Centre in advance of the construction of a new building and the re-modelling of the car park. The proposed development area had been identified as being an area of archaeological potential. Three evaluation trenches were excavated within the proposed development area, two within the car park and a third within the footprint of the new building to ascertain the likely extent of any potential archaeological remains. Nothing of archaeological significance was recorded during the course of the evaluation. Significant changes in ground level suggest extensive quarrying has taken place within the proposed development area.
