Description

{1}{2} Archaeological excavation as part of a proposed development of a waste recycling facility. A Late Iron Age boundary and three early Roman roundhouses were revealed. These were superceded by a Roman villa together with ancillary structures, which included a post-built aisled barn with drying oven, two further drying ovens, stone-lined wells and water cistern. The main buildings were clearly a continuation of the corridor wing excavated to the west in 2002.
