Description

{1} The watching brief monitored the excavation of foundation trenches associated with a new block of flats. It revealed a sequence of natural sand, overlain by a former topsoil upon which were walls of late post medieval cellars. The ground had then been raised. Recent deposits, mainly overburden resulting from the demolition of more recent buildings at the site, were also encountered.
