Description

{1} The investigations monitored the excavations of foundation trenches for a new garage revealing a sequence of natural, subsoil, post medieval and modern deposits. A thick subsoil had developed upon the natural layers into which a refuse pit had been excavated, perhaps during the later use of the site as a farmyard. Finds retrieved during the investigations include a single fragment of medieval foor tile along with 16th - 17th century pottery. Animal bone was also recovered. Mapping only approx - digitised by eye from source report
