Description

Four trenches were excavated. Overall, the result of the trial-trenching was negative for archaeological activity. Topsoil and subsoil appear to have survived across the site with minimal disturbance, apart from the remains of a probable hedge bank running east to west separating the southern third of the site from the northern part. This is corroborated by historic mapping.
