Description

{1} Archaeological Strip, Map and Sample Excavation was carried out at 22 Rotton Row, Raunds, Northamptonshire during the construction of two new dwellings, associated garage, services and landscaping. The project revealed Anglo-Saxon and medieval occupation in the form of pits, post-holes and a gully, which were interpreted as being peripheral activity associated with the surrounding Saxon and medieval Settlement (Scheduled Monument 11507). A post-medieval pit and a number of post-holes that were undated were also found.
