Full Description

{1} A pit with a broad U-shaped profile, measuring 1.35m wide by 0.29m deep. It contained two fragments of early/ middle Saxon and medieval pottery.

{4} A strip map and sample excavation was undertaken prior to the construction of two dwellings, one with a detached garage. The project revealed Anglo-Saxon and medieval occupation in the form of pits, post-holes and a gully, which were interpreted as being peripheral activity associated with the surrounding Saxon and medieval Settlement.
