Description
{1} Thirteen trenches were excavated. The site had been extensively landscaped during the 1990s during construction works at the university campus. Playing fields exhibited signs of truncation and levelling, while landscaped areas contained extensive made-ground deposits. Two shallow post-medieval or modern ditches were identified; these are not shown on historic maps of the area but they are probably associated with landscaping or drainage activities within the grounds of Moulton Park House. The rectangular anomaly identified by the previous geophysical survey was shown to be modern land drains.
