SNN110978 - Park Campus, University of Northampton, Boughton green Road, Northampton: Archaeological evaluation, October 2014

In September 2014, Cotswold Archaeology carried out an archaeological evaluation, comprising the excavation of thirteen trenches at Park Campus, University of Northampton, Boughton Green Road, Northampton. The work was commissioned by The University of Northampton. The site had been extensively landscaped during the 1990s during construction works at the university campus. Playing fields exhibited signs of truncation and levelling, while landscaped areas contained extensive made-ground deposits. Two shallow post-medieval or modern ditches were identified; these are not shown on historic maps of the area but they are probably associated with landscaping or drainage activities within the grounds of Moulton Park House.
