Description

{1} A total of 72 test-pits were excavated around Silverstone in the summer of 2003. Scatters of Romano-British pottery were recovered from across the village, small amounts of pottery suggesting limited early medieval settlement and considerable growth of population in the 12th and 13th centuries. [Mapped polygons show the two main areas of test pitting, rather than individual pits]
