Description

{1} Archaeological evaluation of a block of land formerly part of Onley Fields Prison Farm. The northern part of the site lay within Northants, the southern within Warwickshire. Fourteen trenches were excavated within the Northants part of the site. Aside from furrow bases, a broad shallow pit in Trench 17 and two small, parallel gullies and a possible posthole in trench 18, no other archaeological features were encountered. Within the Warwickshire part of the site, the edge of a Roman settlement was identified.
