Description

{1} Archaeological observation undertaken during construction of a new house. A single visit was made to the site on 6th January, on the client’s instruction. On arriving at the site, it was found that overburden had already been removed, the site had been terraced and a substantial retaining wall constructed towards the rear of the site. Excavations for the footings of a retaining wall adjacent to the north-eastern boundary were observed. No archaeological features or finds were noted, though survival of anything but the deepest features was unlikely, in view of the earthmoving that had already taken place.
