SNN111453 - Archaeological monitoring: Land at 21 Denford Road, Ringstead, Northants, NN14 4DF

In January 2016 a watching brief visit was made to land adjacent to 21 Denford Road, Ringstead, Northants, under the terms of an archaeological planning condition. The site lies within the village core, and is known to have contained part of a row of cottages shown on early OS mapping. Part of a clay base was noted, possibly for the aforementioned cottages. However, as significant earthmoving had already taken place on the site prior to the visit being requested, it was not possible to determine the presence or absence of any other buried heritage assets, or to determine whether or not the development had impacted on any buried heritage assets.
