Description
{1} Archaeological watching brief and strip, map and record on two plots of land either side of Scarletwell Street during the demolition of 43 garages and subsequent construction of 14 dwellings and associated services. Medieval features, including the possible Saxon town ditch, were found in several of the manholes to the south of Scarletwell Street. The remains of a 19th century building, probably connected with houses by the unnamed street south of Bath Row, were also found. In the area to the north of Scarletwell Street only modern make-up and demolition layers were found.
