Description

{1} Archaeological observation was undertaken prior to the laying of a new pipe. A single trench, measuring 100m by 0.6m, was excavated. No archaeological features or artefacts were identified. The stripping of the trench for the replacement pipe revealed only the cut of the old pipe being replaced. Located on the possible trackway, this suggests that the identified cropmarks were in fact the easement and trench of this old watermain.
