Description

{1} Magnetometry survey of c6ha of arable land at Pury Quarry identified an L-shaped section of ditch located near to the northern edge of the survey area. This is probably part of an Iron Age or Roman enclosure. A pair of linear anomalies, aligned north-west to southeast, are possible ditches. Remains of ridge and furrow cultivation were also observed across the area. Two large anomalies in the east and north-east of the survey area are typical of those produced by backfilled quarry pits.
