Description

{1} Archaeological geophysical survey was undertaken of a suspected barrow identified as a cropmark, located on the first river gravel terrace. The magnetometer survey has clearly located a circular ring ditch approximately 20m in diameter. This ditch has not, however, been detected in its entirety and the anomaly is abruptly curtailed to the north. {2} AML Survey Database Reference No.: 581. Survey type: Magnetometer: recorded grid. Survey type: Resistivity: recorded grid. Part of the Raunds Area Project for the Central Archaeology Service, to examine three probable barrows - one in the ARC gravel quarry & two cropmark sites (CAS No 176/1/1 & 1344/1/4).
