Description
{1} Trial trench excavation comprising 77 trenches (although one trench was not excavated due to onsite constraints). Most of the trenches measured 50m long by 1.8m wide. In Field 5 three trenches comprised an ‘L-shaped trench measuring 65m long (for recording purposes split into Trench 73a and 73b). Trench 74 measured 35m long and Trench 77 was 6m long. The proposed development area contained clearly defined archaeological sites that dated to the Iron Age, Iron Age to Roman and post-medieval periods.
