Description
{1} Outbuilding to rear of Stockwell House was subject to archaeological investigation prior to conversion. Excavation on the western side of the building revealed a roughly cobbled yard and the site of a small forge. Pottery evidence suggests it dated to the first half of the 20th century. Excavations to the east defined the remains of a small stone and brick privy with a well-preserved cess pit of a similar date. A small test pit on the north side revealed a yard made of crazy paving overlying evidence of earlier yards.
