Description
Site code: 1C18BLGTT {1} Trial trench evaluation comprising 78 trenches, excavated in two phases and over a wide area close to the site of Edgcote Roman villa. Principal finds comprised a plethora of features dating to the late Iron Age including postholes ditches and gullies, ring ditches, enclosures possible and possible roundhouses indicative of settlement. To the east of the site of the Roman Villa were late Roman c3rd to 4th century ditches and pitting and structural remains including stone surfaces, a wall, a foundation and a stone lined well.
