Description
{1} Excavation of 42 trial trenches comprising three 60m by 2m trenches, two 30m by 4m trenches and 37 by 2m trenches. Prior to the machine excavation of the trenches, exploratory test pits measuring 0.50m x 0.50m were excavated at each end of each evaluation trench to recover any artefacts present in the topsoil. Metal detecting was undertaken prior to the trench being excavated and at 300mm depth intervals where appropriate.
