Description

Part of a wider series of investigations by CLASP around the hinterland of Bannaventa. A trial trench excavated in 2019 to the east of the original alignment of Watling Street identified a large, late Roman timber structure. Excavation was halted during Covid and restarted in 2022. During this season, a pit containing the skeletons of two individuals was excavated.
