Description

The evaluation uncovered a series of linear features possibly associated with late Iron Age/Roman but more likely medieval agricultural exploitation of the landscape, along with a number of furrows of medieval/post-medieval date. In addition to the linear features, two undated, possible tree throw pits were also recorded, which may have been associated with woodland clearance prior to agricultural exploitation of the landscape, possibly as early as the later prehistoric period. The work made minor contributions to Iron Age, medieval and post-medieval objectives in the relevant research framework.
