Description

One 0.5 m wide trench was excavated against the back of the wall, to a maximum length of 25 m. The trench contained a made ground deposit, interpreted as modern backfill from prior renovations or a result of construction from the adjacent car park, evidenced by the presence of plastic and extruded brick. No evidence was found of obvious antiquity due to excavations stopping at a depth of 0.6m, thereby sitting above any potential archaeological horizon. [Information from OASIS online form]
