Description
In August 2023, Cotswold Archaeology carried out an archaeological evaluation with a total of 14 trenches were excavated. Results found that there are two possible phases of medieval agricultural activity, followed by a subsequent phase of medieval/post-medieval ridge and furrow. Also identified was a post-medieval field boundary depicted on the 1888-1913 six inch ordnance survey map. The results of the evaluation did not correlate well with the geophysical survey, with most of the medieval ditches undetected, possibly due to the presence of pronounced ridge and furrow across the Site.
