Description

The geophysical survey was successful in identifying various features associated with the barrow. The higher resolution survey over the smaller area has revealed a clearer picture of the interior of the barrow, potentially as well as the resistivity survey from 1995. The slight differences in the results could indicated animal damage within the barrow, a large number of rabbit holes were seen across the top of the barrow during surveying. The survey has also identified features potentially associated with the barrow which were not identified in the previous surveys. Possibly an exterior ditch or exterior barrow ditches, or possibly pits associated with the barrow. The feature identified as a barrow ditch in the 1995 survey may represent just one phase of activity, with a later feature dug further from the centre of the barrow.
