Description

A stone-lined Romano-British well, partially destroyed by the excavation of a clay pit, was recorded in 1953. It had been carefully excavated by Mr Bunch and was recorded by Gwen Brown. The text places the location of the well to the south of Gayton Road, although the supplied grid reference places it to the north. The location of 'The Old brickworks' is unknown.
