Description

MOLA undertook a geophysical survey on c1.1ha of land of Stowe Road, Preston Capes. The survey detected several features of potential archaeological interest, comprising a series of irregular ditches and pits of uncertain date. The remnants of a 13th century deer park boundary were also present. Other detected features included the remains of a 19th-century barn, field boundaries and drains. Less archaeologically significant features detected by the survey include the buried remnants of a 19th-century barn and associated yards and a small bank of uncertain origin, in the far south of the survey area.
