Description
The community project began site clearance in the months leading up to May 2025. a metal detecting survey was undertaken by Northamptonshire Artefact Recovery Club (NARC) in the fields on either side of the old trackway. The dig weekend was led by three professional archaeologists with a team of c50 volunteers. The dig and metal detecting showed that the route was formerly a cobbled roadway. A huge number of finds were recovered, mostly dating to the post-medieval/modern period.
