Description
Pre-Construct Archaeology Limited was commissioned by Grace Homes Limited to carry out historic building recording of a group of disused farm buildings and structures at Grange Farm, Irthlingborough Road, prior to their demolition and redevelopment. The survey found that the farm originated shortly after enclosure in the early 19th century and was extensively remodelled between 1861 and 1884 as a planned livestock farm. Surviving buildings included cattle sheds, shelter sheds and a granary, with evidence of the site's development from a traditional farmstead to a more industrialised mixed farming operation focused on cattle, dairying and crop storage.
