Description
Bypass work undertaken in 1985 in Well Field corner. At the corner of Strixton Street and A509, late bypass works. Site codes SWF 85 for later, just SWF for 1960s. The bypass and my excavation on the NE corner of Well Field show that the village went along to the road junction both sides. Not at all obvious in Church Field, where the Manor House gardens and the later orchard must have removed the surface traces with the outer landscaped garden area. Not published.
