Description

A trench 29 m long by 7.5 m wide was excavated to the east of Market Square. Two lengths of ditch probably formed parts of the late Saxon boundaries of plots fronting High Street or the small valley, to the north. A rectangular building, some 6m wide, was partly constructed over one of the backfilled ditches.
