Description

{1} Evaluation in advance of a housing development. Six evaluation trenches were positioned to investigate earthworks recorded by RCHME. Archaeological features were absent from three of the trenches. The main features of interest were a series of late Saxon ditches in Trench 1. There were minor ditches in Trench 1 and 2 whose date and nature were unclear and a ditch in Trench 3 from which Roman pottery was retreived.
