Description

[1} A watching brief was undertaken on the corner of St Giles Terrace and The Ridings, north side during construction work. The whole plot was cellared to a depth of 2m. Pits cut through the ironstone natural; they showed beneath the cellar floorswhere these had been lifted in the NE corner. These resembled quarry pits discovered c250m to the south-west at Derngate.
