There were a large number of graves right up against the north face of the wall. Earlier graves were noted beneath the wall, but none were seen beyond 1.2m beyond the south of southern face of wall either in section or in plan. {4} Area A lay close to the junction of Marefair and Horseshoe Street and measured 11.40m by 5.40m. {5} Medieval cemetery, earlier pit and building excavated on Horseshoe Street below Bells Warehouse. Site is north of Kettering tyres yard and excavated Summer/Autumn 1974.
