Description

{1} Watching brief undertaken during the laying of sewer pipes. A Roman road was observed c1.75m below ground level. An 18th-century shoe was also found. {2} The Roman road from Bannaventa to Duston (Margary 17) was exposed at SP 718613, SP 724 611 (where a layer of stone 20ft wide was observed), and SP 720610.
