Description

{1} Persimmon Homes commissioned Northamptonshire Archaeology to undertake an archaeological watching brief during the laying of a surface water outfall sewer on land belonging to the Easton Neston Estate. The sewer is c.400m long and serves a new housing development located off the Northampton Road. The pipeline runs from the development site into the River Tove at a point downstream of the Broad Water (Fig.2). No evidence was found of any pre-modern archaeology. This is possibly due to the low lying aspect of the area which would have left it prone to flooding.
