Abstract/Summary

Persimmon Homes commissioned Northamptonshire Archaeology to undertake an archaeological watching brief during the laying of a surface water outfall sewer on land belonging to the Easton Neston Estate, Towcester, Northants (NGR SP 695490, Fig.1). The work was carried out in November and December 1997 in fulfilment of requirements advised by Northamptonshire Heritage on 3 September 1997. The sewer is approximately 400m long and serves a new housing development located off the Northampton Road. The pipeline runs from the development site into the River Tove at a point downstream of the Broad Water (Fig.2).
