Description

{1} An evaluation was carried out at the proposed site of a residential development. Two archaeological trenches were excavated on a block of land immediately to the north of the junction of St Leonard's Road and Towcester Road, Northampton, within the medieval suburb of Far Cotton. A pre-19th century soil horizon was found, which contained a few abraded sherds of medieval pottery. Elsewhere the site had been heavily disturbed during the 19th and 20th centuries.
