Description

{1} Nine trial trenches were located to intersect the anomalies detected by geophysical survey or to test apparently blank areas. All trenches were 25m long except T.9 which was 8m x 6m. A metal-detecting survey was carried out along the trench bottoms and spoil heap. The trial trenching confirmed the presence of ditches, pits, post-holes and a possible aisled building, but no indications of industrial activity.
