Description

{1} A watching brief was carried out by the Woodfields in the area of the Coach Station. Although it was thought that there may be nothing there, there were apparently lots of kilns, most of which were destroyed by the works {2} Brief mention of this investigation in the text. The accompanying illustration notes two separate, but adjacent kilns (7 and 8) excavated by the Woodfields in 1995 but it is not known whether they were excavated as part of the same investigation.
